I have used an Aeropress coffee maker for two years. This Delter coffee press, smoked gray edition, was advertised with a .8 liter capacity, which would be double the brewing capacity of my current coffee maker, which would have been a big benefit. Unfortunately, that description was not accurate. I sent it back.If you are considering this coffee maker, let me share my experience, which was overall positive. The inventor claims that he has solved the problem of the Aeropress agitating the coffee grounds in the brewing process. His press has an ingenious silicon valve containing many little jets to infuse the grounds, something like an Italian percolator. The hot water does not sit on the grounds, like in a French press, but passes through. In the case of the smoked gray edition, there is a metal microfilter included which does a great job of filtering out any sediment. I give him points for environmental friendliness--no paper waste!PROS: It seems faster than the Aeropress, because you don't have to wait for 2-3 minutes while the coffee brews. You don't have to time it. The included microfilter is as good as a paper filter without the waste. Solidly made and smaller than the Aeropress with its funnel. Easy to clean (although the Aeropress is even easier). The coffee has no sediment and yet has a good flavorCONS: the process requires multiple plunger steps--too complicated for someone who hasn't had their coffee yet! Lots of parts to keep track of.BOTTOM LINE: I need to make a liter of coffee every morning for myself and my partner, so I am going back to brewing two very strong batches with my Aeropress and diluting them with hot water to make a liter. Purists may say "UGG! Cafe Americano!", but I have experimented enough to make a brew we both like.
