I use this only to make whole wheat tortillas: I use 100 percent whole wheat flour and water and no other ingredients. I spray the heating surfaces with Olive oil spray. Works wonderful! The key, I think is use a small amount of dough, and don't press too hard -- pressing hard will cause the dough to explode due to the steam generated. Instead, push gently, wait, push gently, wait, and then let set to cook, which is about 60 to 90 seconds a tortilla. I've had a larger diameter one in the past...the smaller diameter works better due to allowing the steam to escape more easily.
