I have had this coffee maker for a month and waited to review until I tested it for a few weeks. First I would like to say this is a very nice French Press. The packaging is very nice and the press comes in a cloth bag. Second it makes good coffee if you follow the directions. I had to tinker with the grind fineness of the coffee to get the most out of it. I found roughly a medium drip grind works best. Second use fairly hot water 195-205 degree. When you add the water stir the grounds for 20 seconds or so the let it sit for 5 min. I put the top on and do not press it right away to keep more heat in. The press does not seem to keep coffee super hot really long, but I don't like nuclear hot coffee so that is fine with me. If you wanted to keep the coffee hotter longer using hot tap water before you add grounds to preheat the press would probably help but as I stated I am fine with coffee that does not burn my mouth. As for the sturdiness of the coffee maker you could probably put a boulder on it as it is not cheaply made and the stainless steel is rather thick. I was a little nervous buying such a expensive press (I know presses can run in the hundreds) but for the rest of us on budgets it is expensive. In my opinion it is worth it. If you happen to wear out this coffee maker I would have to ask how?? It does come with a lifetime warranty too. My only negative it although it states 10 cup it is realistically 4 normal cups and 3 big cups, but I drink a lot of coffee. I enjoy the routine of making it so if you are not committed to grinding coffee, boiling water, and going through steps for making coffee daily using this method, then this coffee press may not be the best coffee maker for you. As for using this coffee maker for camping, it is heavy and should be fine. If you are packing it in somewhere to remote camp this is a heavy item so keep that in mind although with its durability you could fight off an animal. All in all it is worth the money.This is my daily coffee press, it is very well made and keeps your coffee hot . It has some heft to it, Which resonates its quality.Would buy again without reservation.Pretty sure I read somewhere the company is Veteran owned, so it motivated me to make this choice over competitors and man, I was not disappointed! The quality of this press is beyond any I have seen. It is a bit heavy? But it retains heat or cold amazing and is durable (major plus at our house). Can’t recommend enough!Coffee tastes great, easy to clean, great quality product!Heavy Duty and easy to clean. It’s a great addition to our RV.I love coffee, but I probably don't rate as a gourmet because French press coffee is cloudy with coffee solids and there is a surprise at the bottom of your cup if you tip up your cup for the last sip. That's not my favorite experience. I use pour-over at home for super clean coffee, but I chose this press for camping. Even though it's not my favorite method, it really brought out the deep coffee flavor and I enjoyed using it. I happily noted that the company was veteran owned, but disappointed to find they had it made in China. All the same, it was well made.This is an amazing item. We have used it camping and love it!Just a great little press!
