Press On: Songs of Healing & Hope - Uplifting Christian Music for Worship, Prayer & Encouragement

This recording is a collection of contemplative and uplifting songs that carried me through a difficult time of loss and gave me the comfort and strength to move into the future with renewed hope. While each song has been a touchstone in my journey, there are two which hold a special place in my heart... and these I dedicate in loving memory to my husband, David Herndon, and my mother, Gladys Parsons. It is Well With My Soul was David's favorite hymn. While his favorite version was four-part a cappella harmony, he had often envisioned it performed with triumphant brass in the final verse. The other song of special note is Eternal Life. Based on the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, it has always embodied for me the way my mother chose to live her life and is an ongoing source of inspiration. Other songs on the album are a cross-section of Christian contemporary songs Press On, Call On Jesus and What Faith Can Do, the traditional spiritual Give Me Jesus, Broadway's Never Walk Alone, recent pop chart toppers Hero, The Prayer and You Raise Me Up and country chart singles Anyway and I'm Alive. I've also included a tribute to my favorite singer Barbra Streisand in Ordinary Miracles as well as On a Clear Day, which is combined in an upbeat Caribbean style medley with I Can See Clearly Now. The final piece The Power of the Dream concludes the selections with positive intensity. I hope that you too will find in these songs, the peace and strength to face each new day and the great gift to be found in living every moment.
