It's sturdy and an inexpensive introduction to turning something on a lathe. If you have a bench top drill press, the tool rest (tall black rod) may not have enough clearance to fit, especially with smaller pieces of stock. If the bar was broken down into two peices and threaded together, it would be perfect for my needs. The bolt that attaches the tool rest is a bit too long and a smaller washer was needed to attach it firmly to the base. It's usable with a "WEN" bench top drill press, though will require a different tool rest.
