This is a really cute and fun lesson plan book. It is great for the teacher who likes things to be artsy and fun rather than drab and boring. I gave this item 4 stars because the front and back cover are flimsy. They are thicker than paper, glossy, and a very cute pattern, but I would like it better if they were a little thicker. For a book that I am going to be using so much and accessing on a daily basis for a year, I would like covers that won't tear become weak at the corners. Also, there are no holes punched so this cannot be placed in a binder. On to the positives though - this book has several helpful pages in the beginning. There are tips and suggestions for how to use the book and make the most of the space on the pages, there is also a page for student names/parent contact information, substitute teacher info, classroom procedures, rules, consequences, management, and emergency information as well as a graph page for a seating chart, a page to list student transportation information (bus, walk, pick-up), a page for the weekly schedule, and a birthdays page. There is also a section for long-term planning so a teacher can write out goals or reminders for upcoming months. The lesson planning pages are very open and allow a teacher to fill in subjects, times, etc.The item itself is great but it came with the cover bent.I use this book for homeschooling my 1st and 3rd graders. It has a nice, simple layout that allows for freedom to use the book as you need. I break up columns and rows into multiple columns and rows with ease by simply drawing in extra lines where needed. There are some pages in the front that would benefit classroom teachers, but I used these pages to write down goals for our year, and I taped in our books-read tracker and attendance record over the pages I didn't use. I use a highlighter to mark the lessons completed, and it does not bleed through to the backside. This is a nice, affordable option that I recommend to someone needing a simple planner. This is the third year that I have used this lesson plan book. I have looked at many others and always come back to this one. It has plenty of room to write down exactly what I am doing each day, as well as extra pages for birthdays etc. I will be buying this every year. Don’t hesitate, and don’t buy one of the expensive plan books.I have bought one each year for the last 3 school years! Love that I can put in my own date and has room for all three of my classes!Used this book for last years plans and bought again for this year! Love the organizer in the front and large area to write out each day’s plan.Excellent for the pre-planning process...really helps to flesh-out ideas and strategize lesson progression and pacing. As a secondary teacher (150+ students I teach year round) you can use the linear and boxed formatting to plan multiple preps alongside each other. Some features such as the birthday calendar and parent letter templates would be more useful to early ed. teachers. I doubt as the school year continues that I will be writing in the plan book on a daily basis, however it will be an excellent quick reference for making sure I'm staying on track with my plans.I highly recommend this purchase! Great value! For the price this is so much better than I imagined. The pages are set up so nice so that there is plenty of room to put in my daily lesson plans for my 3 homeschooled kiddos. The pages are not thin but are nice quality. There are teacher extra pages in the front that I may or may not use but this is exactly what I was looking for to stay organized. I might by another to put away for next year. So nice!
