I was about ready to give up on hand-held lime juicers. Enameled-metal juicers either break at the hinge or leave paint flakes in your juice - or both. This lime press does neither. It also has a bigger hopper than most, so it can fit the larger limes that are often found in today's grocery stores. It will even fit smaller lemons, although it may have a hard time accommodating the largest lemons. An added bonus feature is the set of grooves formed in the sides of the hopper; these allow the juice to run more freely. The only possible negative for some might be that the larger size means that the handles are farther apart; this may make it difficult for some users with smaller hands to use the product without resorting to both hands. However, for me this is not a problem.The I've always bought the metal ones and because of the acidity of lemons and limes, washing many times, etc; it would always rust and breakdown. This juicer will not! The material is sturdy and juices very well. It gets out all the juice when you flip the citrus. I would highly recommend this. This will be the last juicer I will ever have to buy.I've gone through a dozen citrus juicers, big, small, electric and manual. They all fall short, are messy or chip, break, etc. I normally stay away from plastic tools, but the reviews and Tupperware's reputation made me give it a shot.I juice mainly lemon and limes for cocktails, but I also do grapefruit, which I cut into 8 sections, trim out the bitter core, and they fit into this style juicer.I was surprised that I got no splash back and very smooth and strong squeeze. The bottom bowl and the squeezer are more egg shaped which seems to extract more juice and let's it flow out the holes better than the metal ones. The fact that it's plastic means no chipping of the finish, into your juice. Hopefully it lasts as long as it has for other reviewers.I searched and read reviews for different juicers, couldn't decide, I really wanted an aluminum one, thought they were the best. However, the reviews weren't that great. I passed over those and purchased a wooden reamer, nice, but a lot of work and the juice was everywhere. I was skeptical with this one, there were only 4 reviews, all great and decided to try it.I had no idea how easy it would make my life!! Just slice in half, place on the squeezer, squeeze and the juice just flows. No paint to peel off and no metal to bend, just a great product that works as it should.If you are on the fence, jump off, do not hesitate to buy, you won't be sorry.It is an excellent tool for those who like to make the most of the juice of the lemons. Nothing is wasted. I recommend it to the fullest.i just squeezed my first lime half with this, so it's early to say anything about how long it will last, but it appears to be both very sturdy and very simple in its construction. thus i am optimistic about its longevity. it did a good job with my half lime, much better than i could have done with a hand reamer, though i got a bit more juice out by repositioning the "puck" a bit and giving a final squeeze. if you're making lemonade for 100 guests, you'll want something powered, but for a few lemons and limes this will do quite nicely.This is easily THE best manual juicer in the universe. I'm not exaggerating.We've used those yellow juicers that you see at big-box stores and the hinge is always the first thing to go. We've been lucky to have a juicer last a year before the hollow rivet used in other models breaks.This juicer has a solid metal bar that isn't going to break anytime soon.Two years with regular use and this juicer is still going strong.---Three years and this thing is still going.Very good product I m really happy with Tupperwareproduct is great but price is bit more.
