Elizabeth Aston's five books written as continuations of Pride and Prejudice are heads above any of the other authors who have done "like" books. She uses many of the characters from the original novel as back story and/or weaves them into her stories, which are all new and fresh takes on how women were treated and still were able to carve out good and useful lives for themselves and their loved ones. I've enjoyed these novels many times over.
