The press is made of all aluminum material. The reasons why we choose aluminum are: Aluminum make the press more beautiful and stable. It brings the press some slight lustre and hard to break. All-aluminum product is more light because of its low density so that we can operate it and move it more easily and comfortable. More convenient to wash and store.Aluminum is an active metal,so it can form alumina on its surface to prevent the press from the oxidization and water, thus making the press easy to wash and store.

Features

1.Adjustable Thickness: The ABUSA tortilla press is brand new US patented product. It can adjust the thickness to make the tortilla more even. It is delivered with several common standard thickness gaskets (1/8, 1/6, 1/4, 3/8). When the gasket is not installed, the thickness of tortilla would be 1/16 inches. You can see the matching method of our different gaskets from the main picture. If necessary, you can get your desired thickness to make your personal-size piecrust.

2.The ABUSA tortilla press is built of high-quality aluminum with the unique structure, which enables a stable compression press to make a perfect shape. The excellent working structure also makes the two planes strong and not easy to break. In order to avoid the few coating chips into food , you'd better put a oil paper or parchment paper above and under the what you want to press.

3.Bearing structure design is added to the adjustment column and the connection of the pressing plane, which makes the pressed plate rotating more compliant and quiet. This structure also protects the force of the handle, making the handle stronger and not easy to break. If any wrong thing with the bearings , we can provide the free brand new accessories within 1 year.

4.The ABUSA Tortilla Press’s flexible thickness adjustment allows you to try more recipes incluidng Patacones, mini pie shells, tostones, dumplings, rotis, chapatis, empanadas, arepas and more

5.Seldom of the tortilla presses have an imperfect thing that the hole on the handle is drilled too small for the PIN to actually go into. The percentage is just 0.1% and we will solve it completely in follow-up work.If you have a better operational ability , you can use the 1/4 inch drill to make the hole big enough for the PIN.It won't influence the press's function and usage. If any quesiton, make sure that Contact Us At First. We will adopt the proper policy to solve your problems.

The adjustable feature is very useful. I believe it is the only one that does this. Therefore, I have used it more often, saved time and gotten better results shaping baked goods. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars for sturdiness because the top part of the press is loose as it comes down. It really isn't a problem. I just make it a point to control it so that it comes down straight and doesn't veer off to the side. There is a learning curve to changing the sizing discs. There aren't any instructions so I relied on the internet to help me. I feel I got the best press for me.This is a great press, it’s extremely well-made and very well thought outOther brands just have the handle at the hinge point press down on the top of the press but this particular one has a wheel so there’s no fiction of metal scraping on metalThe only thing I didn’t like about this is you cannot make very thin tortillas but typically those are made with a rolling pin and then cut outA good tortilla needs to be translucent, so thin that you should see the shadow of your hand on the other side if you hold it up to a light. This press has a minimum thickness that you can't exceed without modifying the actual itemBut that's okay, because what makes it suck as a tortilla maker... makes it PERFECT for laminating dough and making croissants at a fraction of the cost of a dough sheeter and a FRACTION OF THE SKILL required to hand laminate dough. You just flatten some dough and butter, then flatten them together in the press, fold, and flatten again. This thing is wonderful! I love it!If you are going to get a tortilla press spend the extra few bucks and get this one. It’s going to last forever and it has the extra few options that are worth it. Wonderful color, sturdy and well-made. I would say I would buy it again but I don’t think I will ever have to in my lifetime. I will pass this down to my kids.I typically roll out my tortillas and was hoping this would save me time. It does work (although there is just a little play in the pinned lever), but didn’t seem to save me a lot of time, still required waxed paper to stop sticking (or floured surfaces) and cleanup is more than the rolling pin. Guess I’ll stick to old school, but others may like it.I had originally intended to buy a 10" cast iron tortilla press, but came across this one and decided to buy it instead, primarily for 2 reasons: adjustable thickness and rust avoidance. Made my first batch of low carb tortillas at the thinnest setting (1/16"), it worked just fine. Much quicker and more uniform results than rolling by hand. Plan to use it also for making personal-size pizza crusts, maybe even to press hamburger patties (although I may need to buy some longer bolts to get the desired thickness). I think the key is to press multiple times (not just once) to avoid putting too much force on the handle, rotating the product about a 1/4 turn before each press. Parchment circles work well for this.Marked down a star because the packaging was not the greatest. It was shipped in a thin cardboard box that was just shoved inside an envelope. Box was somewhat damaged, but the press seemed to make it unscathed and all the parts were there. Also wish they made a 10" model to make larger product.Look, if it didn't work, I wouldn't be giving it 3 stars. But it does. It just has some features that don't need to exist, don't add anything, and make it harder to use. First off, the adjustable thickness. In order to use this function, you need a wrench larger then any I own and it doesn't come with it. I was able to get the nut off just by finger loosening it, but it was a struggle. Then there is the spacers. It comes with a pack of spacers for various thicknesses, but now you have a bag of spacers for it you have to keep track of. All of that is pointless anyway because you don't need to add space for your tortillas. Or naan bread, or pita bread. You are literally trying to get those things as thin as possible and it doesn't have any spacers less then 1/8 inch thick. So I just took them off. Then there is the wiggle. The top plate wiggles around and can't be tightened down without, you guessed it, a wrench larger then any I own. So now I have to go out and buy a giant wrench for this thing? Why didn't it just come with one?Anyway, it's made of cast iron which is strong, it does make tortillas, if they adjusted their stupid design or included the tools to make it work this would be a great product.I like it alot except for the bearing, it is very cheap and crushed the first round of tortillas I pressed.
