I usually just crush my garlic cloves with the flat of a knife but on reading the reviews about this 'wonder' item I ordered one to make garlic crushing even easier....I peeled and loaded it with two fat cloves and it just didnt crush them..with added pressure they were at least flattened but if I'd have pressed harder the plastic handles would of busted....a rubbish product..and I'm getting increasingly distrustful of amazon reviews now...I'm honest but are you?! Should of got the sturdy Ikea one.Poor quality. Plastic felt like it was going to break and the metal disc bent the first time I used it. Another 3 uses later it went in the bin!As a garlic press this is rubbish. Very cheap plastic and you have to press down so hard it feels as if it would snap. The metal plate the garlic is pushed through kept lifting and unable to get it to stay in place, then again this press was cheap to buy.It's found a new use within our household, it's now in the playdough box for making hair!Don't buy it! This garlic press is absolute rubbish. It doesn't squeeze the garlic properly. You have to peel the garlic first which kind of defies the point of buying one in the first place. It falls to pieces easy and is very flimsy.this small but very ingenious bit of kit really is good...easy to use..easy to clean..and just value for money...and also quiet strongly made ..so want to crush your garlic...don't hesitate ...get one..me happy customer...10/10.
