I've had this French Press for 6 months and like it a lot. I don't know what happened to my original positive review but this was to be an amendment.To me, this product is the fully developed evolution of the French Press. No kidding. And it is very inexpensive.The carafe is sturdy, double walled glass which isn't likely to break, as the thin, pyrex Bodum ones do so easily. This press costs bout as much as you would pay for an after-market Bodum-type replacement, not to mention the expensive original article.Double wall glass means that it keeps your coffee warm longer, like a thermos. It really does.The handle is glass, part of the carafe, not fancy framework screwed to the glass, awkward to clean and a pain to remove when you have to replace the glass. There is no metal in the carafe so you can pop off the rubber base and throw it in the dish washer. No hand washing fragile pyrex.Or put it in the microwave for a quick reheat.The cover looks like metal but it is plastic. It's not fancy; cheap, but it works fine and looks good, not a problem. The screen press part is just like all the others on the market. Maybe it can't be improved.I admire an innovation that improves a product enormously. This inexpensive French Press is does it!
