I've had the pleasure to read all three of John Horst's "Allingham" series. What struck me most was how wonderfully John developed as a writer. It's as if his head is filled with colorful characters, just waiting for a book to bring them to life. It's his forte. He paints portraits with masterful strokes of his "keyboard." I knew going in, that this was to be the last in the series, so I have to admit, I was a little worried. Some writers I've followed seem to hurry through the last in a series, because they have other projects planned. It's a testament to a good writer, that the wonderful ones treat the final in a series, as if it may be the final in their body of work and they make it special. This one was special. And, knowing that there would be no more of his beloved "Allingham," John wrapped it all up in a bow with his epilogue. John has a fan. I don't know what's next, but I know it will be worth the read. Oh... and while you're at it, don't forget the other books John has put out.
