Maybe I didn't understand what I was buying before I did, but this garlic press really just mushes the cloves. I guess I thought the holes would cut through the garlic, but I was wrong. It's not too hard to clean since we already use basic brushes for our dishes instead of just a sponge.I saw something like this on a cooking show and thought it looked easy to use and to clean. It takes a lot more force than I anticipated and not all of the garlic goes through the holes. I have a different garlic gadget that more completely crushes garlic with less effort and is easier to clean. I didn't expect to discover I had such a high bar. I thought this would be better than the other device I already had.It works like it's supposed to, but for me it requires a lot more pressure, and more times rocking it across a garlic clove, than I had expected. I had imagined that the holes would have sharper edges, which is not unreasonable because putting a hole in a metal sheet very commonly results in sharp edges. I will say I like the end result. The minced garlic is very uniform.okThis was a good idea but lacks comfort inn the handle. Cleaning it was also difficult.It is more of a masher than a dicer. It would work best on fresh, large cloves.I kew it was serrated but I didn't think it would be so dull. The amount of pressure needed to crushed the garlic makes it a workout. The silicone peeler wasn't very good, it worked well on small pieces.It gets 2 stars because it works just well. Faster than chopping, maybe but easier .....noOverall I can’t recommend. It works ok on large garlic pieces; but still takes a bit of scrubbing to clean out the holes. The rubber tube that comes with it actually works much better if you use it to both peel and crush.
